Eating omega-3-rich fish may keep vision loss at bay

Eating more seafood rich in omega-3 fatty acids  appears to slow advanced macular degeneration, a common cause of age-related blindness, according to new research published in the December 2010 journal Ophthalmology.

It is important to remember the benefit here came from food, not supplements.  If you can’t eat seafood rich in omega-3 fatty acids four times per week then supplementation is recommended, but be thoughtful about choosing quality supplements.   Not all are created equally.
